THM Learning Experience: Hotel Study Visit & Hands-on Workshops at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa

On 26 August 2026, Dr. Songkran Klomsookk and Ms. Punjaaporn Thanawachiranan, lecturers from the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, Multidisciplinary College, Christian University of Thailand, accompanied first-year and fourth-year students on an educational visit and hands-on training experience at Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa. The activity was designed to provide students with practical learning experiences in a professional hospitality environment and to enhance their understanding of career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The first-year students participated in hands-on workshops on Western Table Manners and Basic Mocktail Preparation. Through practical activities and demonstrations, students gained an understanding of appropriate dining etiquette, professional table manners, and the basic principles of preparing non-alcoholic beverages. They also attended a special talk designed to provide knowledge and inspiration about working in the tourism and hospitality industry, helping them gain a clearer perspective on potential career paths and the skills required for their future professional development.

Meanwhile, the fourth-year students participated in practical training focused on professional food and beverage and housekeeping operations. Their activities included Western Table Setup, Food and Beverage Service, and a Bed Making Workshop. The training was conducted with support from experienced hotel staff in the relevant departments, who provided demonstrations, practical guidance, and close supervision throughout the activities. This allowed students to connect their classroom knowledge with real-world operational practices and professional service standards.

The educational visit provided valuable learning opportunities for students at different stages of their studies. Through direct observation, hands-on practice, and interaction with hospitality professionals, both groups were able to develop practical skills, professional attitudes, and a better understanding of the expectations of the hospitality industry. The experience will serve as an important foundation for their future studies, internships, and careers in tourism and hospitality.
