Congratulations to Dr. Songkran Klomsook, lecturer in the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, Multidisciplinary College, Christian University of Thailand, on his official recognition as an ASEAN Master Trainer (M.T.) in Travel Services, Tour Operation Division (T.O.), under the framework of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA on TP).

     On Wednesday, 16 September 2026, Mr. Jaturon Phakdeewanit, Director-General of the Department of Tourism, presided over the opening ceremony and presented Certificates to tourism professionals and tourism professional assessment bodies participating in activities under the MRA on TP 2026, held under the theme “One Standard: Many Professionals.” The event took place at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok.

     The event aims to strengthen the competencies and professional capabilities of tourism personnel in accordance with international standards and the needs of the tourism industry. It also supports the enhancement of service standards, reduction of disparities in professional standards, and the strengthening of Thailand’s and ASEAN’s competitiveness in tourism.

     As an ASEAN Master Trainer, Dr. Songkran Klomsook plays an important role in delivering knowledge and developing tourism professionals in accordance with the ASEAN Competency Standards. His responsibilities include teaching and training, practical activities, English-language role plays, and the dissemination of knowledge and understanding of the MRA on TP and ASEAN tourism professional standards.

     This recognition represents an important achievement for Christian University of Thailand in advancing the professional expertise of its academic personnel to the regional level. It also provides an opportunity to integrate international professional standards and practical experience into teaching and learning, contributing to the development of students with competencies aligned with the needs of the tourism and hospitality industry in ASEAN.
