On 30–31 August 2026, Dr. Songkran Klomsuk, lecturer of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program, together with six students from the program, organized an experiential learning activity outside the classroom to enhance students’ skills in tour leading and tour guiding. The activity took place along a historical tourism route covering Lopburi, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya.

     The activity provided students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organizing and conducting tours at a variety of significant historical attractions. The destinations included King Narai’s Palace, Bang Pa-In Palace, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, the Ancient Palace, and Wat Chaiwatthanaram. Students were responsible for researching and preparing information for tour commentary, as well as practicing how to present historical and cultural stories in an engaging and appropriate manner for visitors.

     Beyond interpretation and tour commentary, students also practiced essential skills required of professional tour leaders and tour guides, including tourist care, trip management, coordination with relevant organizations and stakeholders, and problem-solving in various situations that may arise during a tour. These experiences enabled students to gain a clearer understanding of actual tourism operations and the responsibilities of professionals working in the tourism industry.

     This experiential learning activity not only enhanced students’ knowledge of historical tourism, but also provided an important platform for developing practical tour guiding competencies through learning from real places, hands-on practice, and real-world experiences. The knowledge and skills gained from the activity can be further applied to their academic studies, professional training, internships, and future careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.
